You should expect a lot from your luxury SUV and fortunately, BMW attempts to live up to that expectation in the new BMW X5. While this SUV may be a hit at BMW of Peabody, we also understand that there are other SUVs out there that come close in competition, one such vehicle is the 2020 INFINITI QX60.

BMW X5 vs INFINITI QX60

So, how does the latest INFINITI mid-sized SUV compare against the one developed by BMW? Well, the INFINITI model does offer a solid starting powertrain in the form of a 3.5-liter V6 engine that pairs with a finicky CVT to make 295 horsepower and 270 lb-ft worth of torque. You’ll get about 76.5 total cubic feet of cargo space with all three rows folded, and a solid spread of active safety features like automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitors are made standard. However, you’ll be unable to upgrade that starting powertrain to anything heftier, and while the INFINITI SUV does offer marginally more cargo space, that third-row seat isn’t necessarily comfortable, or worthwhile.

The BMW X5, on the other hand, delivers a more well-rounded experience, with the turbocharged inline-6 engine that is rated for 340 horsepower and 330 lb-ft worth of torque. You can also upgrade that starting engine to a 4.4-liter V8 that is responsible for 456 horsepower and 479 lb-ft worth of torque. Standard safety is as competent as the INFINITI QX60, with automatic emergency braking offered as standard, and with 72.3 total cubic feet of cargo room, you’ll get plenty of interior space to work with whether transporting cargo or passengers.

The INFINITI QX60 may seem great at first glance, but it is the 2020 BMW X5 that is the true performer. At BMW of Peabody, our BMW dealers can give you the full rundown of this great new mid-sized SUV, and show you how you can potentially take one home with you.
