The BMW X5 was redesigned for the 2019 model year, which marks the start of the SUV’s fourth generation. Compared to its immediate predecessor, the 2019 BMW X5 is about an inch longer and around 2.6 inches wider. The SUV’s wheelbase increased about 1.6 inches as well.

With this in mind, the 2019 BMW X5 is the most recent vehicle to switch over to the BMW brand’s Cluster Architecture platform. The BMW X5 boasts a double wishbone front suspension along with a multilink rear end. Adaptive dampers are now standard while a suspension that transfers air to the SUV’s front and rear axles is optional. Rear-wheel drive is a new option that the 2019 BMW X5 is eligible for.
Clearly, the redesigned BMW X5 has plenty to offer motorists who want the latest features and drivers who are eager to embark on their next off-road adventure. To truly appreciate this premium SUV, however, you really have to take it for a test drive.
