If you’re thinking about buying a Certified Pre-Owned BMW, there are a lot of things to know beforehand. Here we answer some common questions we often get about BMW Certified models at BMW of Peabody.
Q: How does a vehicle become BMW Certified?
A: Not just any pre-owned car can be called a BMW Certified vehicle. First, they must be newer models without more than 60,000 miles on their odometers. They also have to pass a multi-point inspection.
Q: What does this inspection cover?
A: All parts and systems (about 200 total components) are thoroughly inspected. In particular, safety systems get close attention, and if anything needs to be replaced, we will only use genuine BMW parts.
Q: Are these vehicles road-tested?
A: The visual inspection is just one part of the review process. All cars are also driven by our certified technicians so we can evaluate the brakes and engine. The heating and cooling systems will also be tested, along with any electrical components.
Q: Do BMW Certified cars come with warranty coverage?
A: Every new BMW has a four-year/50,000-mile warranty, and all BMW Certified models get the remainder of that coverage. If it doesn’t apply or once that coverage ends, a one-year/unlimited-mileage warranty goes into effect. This covers major parts like the brakes, engine, and transmission.
Q: Are there any other types of coverage?
A: In addition to an extensive warranty, you will also have even more protection. Every BMW Certified car comes with 24/7 emergency roadside assistance for six years from its original in-service date with no mileage limits. This includes help with gas deliveries, dead batteries, or flat tires.
