One of the things that makes us exceptionally proud to be BMW dealers near North Andover, MA is the BMW brand’s Mobility Program. This generous program helps people who have disabilities or impairments pay for the adaptive equipment they need to operate their BMW vehicles safely.
Only people who pay to have new BMW models or BMW certified pre-owned vehicles modified to accommodate them are eligible for a one-time reimbursement from the BMW Mobility Program. The maximum reimbursement a driver can receive from the Mobility Program is $2,500.
You have to satisfy certain criteria in order to qualify for a reimbursement from the BMW Mobility Program. The modifications your car undergoes have to be completed within the New Vehicle Limited Warranty (i.e. four years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first) or the BMW Certified Pre-Owned Warranty (i.e. the earlier of six years or 100,000 miles), for instance. The BMW vehicle you buy or lease must also be registered and driven by the person whose limitations make it necessary for the automobile to be modified.
In order to qualify for a reimbursement, you must provide the following information:
- A copy of the lease or purchase contract you received from an authorized BMW dealer operating in the United States
- A copy of the car owner’s or lessee’s driver’s license, a doctor’s note, or a permit
- A copy of the paid invoice that details the modifications that were performed on the car
- If one or more air bags are deactivated as the result of the modifications, you must also provide an approval letter from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
You can submit a claim for reimbursement by sending an email to BMWMobility@bmwusa.com or faxing the requisite paperwork to the following number: 201-930-8484. It only takes four weeks or less for a claim to be processed after the BMW brand receives the information necessary to process it.
